sale of ancestral land after partition of property

During property distribution my share included the ancestral land. Now can I sell it to the highest bidder or I am bound to sell it to my brother . My brother is quoting very meagre price for a fertile, and in demand land

Hi 

Any property acquired through partition is your self acquired property. you are free to dispose of this property through Gift/Will/Sale at prevalent market rates. Just ensure you that the partition deed is registered and the names mutuated in the government records.
