I completely agree with Tajobsindia’s suggestion that you should file a joint petition for Mutual Consent Divorce, if the procedure is as easy as described by Tajobsindia.

Today the easy way out is to let thing be as it is & move on with your life. But life can have some cruel/funny twists & turns in the future, you never know how the story develops. Today what sounds sensible could tomorrow turn out to be a nightmare.

Therefore it is better to be on the safer side of the law.
