Self earned property clarification

Dear All,

My father received the property from his family as part of the family settlement for the year of 1981.Now the property with my father name.

Can we consider the property as self earned property or ancestors property.

1. It is not an ancestral property,

2. Your father is the absolute owner of the said property.

It will be difficult to give an opinion without seeing the property documents, who knows, it may be an ancestral property too, given to your father as a partition settlement, so better consult a good lawyer in the local and take his opinion.
