Statement of accused in the form of affidavit

In the car accident case , is it permissible that accused gives his statment in the form of a affidavit ?

If yes , what is the procedure for doing it?

No !!!! Accused is Interrogated by police only aftewards his statements are recorded as per the result of interrogation.

Police cannot accept affidavit of accused person, nor they can be bound by law to accept any affidavit so there is no question of any procedure.

The case is already in court , and now the turn is for statment of accused. My question is whether accused can submit his statement in the form of affidavit.

No!.  Accused will appear befoer the Court and depose the statement as stated before the I.O..  And other lawyer will cross on the statement to prove the case.
