Text.

I have received cash gift from my brother in law vide Bank cheque amounting to 2lakhs.Is it necessary to prepare gift deed.

Not necessary.  It is enough if there is a letter from your brother in law stating that he has given a gift of Rs. 2 lakhs to you, vide the said cheque.
