beware of fake institutes/universities

HIGHER EDUCATION-FOREIGN EDUCATION-JOINT DEGREE PROGRAMS:
U.S TVU university scam is only tip of ice-berg ,if you open newspapers ,you will come across fake advertisement of universities.Higher education&professional education has become lucrative business for agents /greedy businessmen.luck of proper enforcement machinery in education sector&corruption is contributory factor.Blaming U.S is not sufficient ,we need act on illegal inst.&universities.There is another form cheating is co-called tie-up with foreign universities[joint degree programs] and offer of final semester in foreign soil,it only meant to lure students and grab huge fees.
Tips:
1.Pl take admission recognized universities/institutes and avoid agents.
2.Pl ensure that such joint program are legally recognized in both countries by concerned higher education department/ministry
2.Pl ensure you get educational visa ,not visitor visa ,it is meant for tourist not for student.
3.Write to embassies about the recognition of foreign institutes.
4.cross verify the universities/institutes in India or abroad.
5.Seek information of Indian universities& its programs from UGC -AICTE-DEC -HRD ministry using RTI act.[Caveat emptor-let buyers beware] before seeking admission.
6.Dont get carry way with promise of placement assistant or financial assistance gimmicks.
