The stamp duty in WB is assessed by the respective Registration only and there is no way the private party has any say in it.

Are we supposed in your eyes as any calculator or clerk. We do not even calculate
court fees payable in courts for suits, the business is done by our clerks with help of table given. We simply provide how to arrive at valuation.

But in stamp duty cases we are not at liberty to value the property,as its minima is fixed by collectors then even if the state is same districts are different then any lawyer can subject to maximum tell you the rate@ which duty would be payable but he can not practically tell what stamp duty would be payable in a particular case unless he is personally looking after the case.

Collector of every district fixes its rate of value of land situated within his district and State govt. fixes the rate of stamp duty based upon quality of land. You can obtain list of rates and stamp duty as per quality of land from the office of your nearest registrar or Stamp Venders/Deed-writers.
