I gave my uncle general power of attorney to look after the matters on behalf of my one policy in ICICI in 2008 as I went on some where on some work. It was registered in local sub registrar office. After my return, He is not co operating with me when I asked about the tranctions. He will not co operate with me to register the Cancellation of this power of attorney. I want to cancel the power of attorney, of course with out any undue tranctions by him in this due period. How shall I proceed?

Just issue a legal notice to him revoking the power of attorney and make a paper publication of such revocation. That will suffice.

You can prepare a cancellation deed and send a copy to your uncle along with a letter or legal notice informing him not to proceed further on behalf of that POA.In addition to it you can also publish a general notice to public about the cancellation of POA.

i agree with Mr. Subramanian apart from above advice you have to send the intimation to ICICI regarding cancellation of POA

If the POA pertained only to your policy with ICICI, cancel the POA & intimate both your uncle & ICICI.
