Harrasment

A couple have been married for 8 years and have two kids.They live away from home and visit the native place once in a year.The wife wantgs the husband to maintain a distance from his family and this leads to quarrels.

The husband has a married younger sister who lives abroad and mother who lives in their native place. The father passed away recently.

The father's ashes have be immersed in water as per Hindu traditions. The brother and the sister want to do it together and a have planned a date. The wife is opposing the move and is creating troubles. She doesnot want the husband to perform the rights saying that she was not consulted.

She threatens the husband with dire consequence if he leaves her and goes fo the ceremony. She also threatens the husband that she will creat problem if she is forced to attend the function.

What are the options available with the husband?
Should he give a police complaint stating his wifes actions

Let him convince her properly, if she didn't agree for that then inform the same to her parents and do the duty whatever he want to do being a son.

The story goes on.

The wife is coming from a politically strong family. The wife is sticking to her words. She called up her parents and inturn they went to the her husband's home and fought with his mother and abused her.
They threatened her theat they will inplicate her in harrasment and dowry case.

( Please note that whate ever dowry was given is in the girls name)

The wife has started saying that she will do what ever she can to see that the cermeony doesnot take place.

What are the options available for the mother?

What should be done?
