get death certificate, legal heir certificate, then file with registrar office

When your grand father is died without making any arrangements in respect of the properties, then all the legal heirs are entittle for equal rights in those properties. Your father cannot sell it alone. If your father is the only son then he has to give a vardi to the concerned revenue department along with the survivors certificate issued by the Tahasildar of the Taluka to get his name to the property, only after that he can sell the property.
