Hello Sir/Madam,
I want to know about the procedure of registration of a partnership firm based in Karampura, Delhi.
Also want to know the documents required for the same.
Can the name of our firm resembles to the other firm.

@Author, the partnership firm under I.P. Act is optional registration. But all the partners shall execute partnership deed with terms and conditions, place of business, etc.
for Registration of Firm, it requires partnership deed, Form-I which should be attested by witness for all the partners and be presented by the authority. The name of the Firm is not objectable if another firm is having an identical name, but the address of the firm should be alternative. if the address and firm name are identical, then it will contradictory.

Dear Pankaj,
Under Indian Partnership Act, 1932, registration is optional. If you want to register your firm, you have to prepare one partnership deed and present the same for registration to the Controller of Firms and Societies.
Preparation of the deed is one of the most intricate work. Donot get misled by some blank formats of partnership deed availabel in the net. You may get your firm registered, but in case of real problem, it would be difficult for you get the relief. Consult a good solicitor for preparing the same. He would guide about the formalities.

Along with partnership deed as per local custom they may ask for affidavit. What are the problem in giving affidavit?
