If it is criminal case then challenge the process in the High court. If itz civil then procedure will have to be followed i.e., filing of WS, Evidences and argument.

Both contempts can be quashed by HC on sufficient grounds put up by petitioner therein.
G V S Jagannadha Rao (Expert) 16 November 2009
A complaint u/s 499 IPC for defamation can be quashed by the High Court.

If the complaint does not make out a case against the petitioner, he can move the HC for quash.

If allegations are made attributing a role ( an overt act) against the Petitioner, the HC will not quash the case but would direct the petitioner to face the trial.
Sachin Bhatia (Expert) 22 November 2009
Case of Defamation can be quashed by the H.C.
