Without complete details and facts it is difficult to advise about your prospects in the case, however, you issue a legal notice and also a public notice calling for objections on the said land.

First you take the property extract there you will find the date of the purchase of the property purchase, on that base you can obtain the certified copy of the sale deed then you will get the details.
If another person claiming you will have to file a suit for declaration and injunction

Had that purchased land mutated in favour of your father or not?
If not then the seller might have been shown as owner of the already sold land in the revenue record and under that garb he must have sold it again in the hand of subsequent buyer.
In this situation immediately get mutation in favour of your father before the approach of subsequent buyer and then seek stay order against him from proper court of law.
