Due to this amendment daughter has got equal rights in the ancestral properties. She is equal to son.
If you want to know more refer the Karnataka High Court Judgement reported in 2010 ILR.

actually if the ancestral property only get share of except living house others then shares, but after amendment the women having equal shares in living house also.
