Have a question about Signature on the registered document

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 15 May 2010 This query is : Resolved
My father has got a property through Family partition deed, and in that deed everyone else in the family also got a property and signed the deed.

In the family partition deed (Registered Document) my father name mentioned as (family initial + His father initial + His name) (ex: R.T.Kesavan where R is family initial, T is Kesavan's initial) but my father had put the signature with single intitial only (i.e. T. Kesavan) in that family partition deed, he usually puts the signature like this only.

Will this create any problem in the future? If yes, what remedy measures we need to take. Please advise.

NO problem. Signing with initial as shown by you in your question does not create any problem. IN case if it is disputed then you will have to prove it, it is your father's signature.

no problems are likely to be there.

if he signs in this manner only then its fine, his handwriting is there and some other document must be there to corroborate his signatures in case of any need in future.

So long as his signing has been similar, there should not be any problem !
Uma parameswaran (Expert) 16 May 2010
If your father is keeping same signature with out change ,then it would not arise any problem.

Dear Anonymous,

In the recital of the Agreement itself your father's name address age parentage must have been mentioned and in case your father choose to sign differently that does not makes any difference.

Best Regards

Daksh
