Name change

(Querist) 09 March 2013 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

We have been advised by the most popular numerologist to change our names with addition of 1/2 alphabets in the names of my wife and my kids, but a letter addition in my surname. I have already done the name change in gazette and applied for pan card for all 4 of us and passport change for myself and my wife ...few queries- 1. will my surname being different from my wife and kids have any issue in future....in admissions, any legal issue etc (2) do i need to change the name in my kids birth certificate (3) once pan card and passport are changed, will change my name in bank accounts along with signature change.....(4) also, my understanding is Name has no legal format in india or guidelines but we are governed by unique identity number which is PAN,AADHAR etc...pls advise

You can not change your name in the documents bearing your previous name.
You can simply start using your new name after executing affidavit and gazette notification.

You can use new name now.
Cannot change old Records.

You shall not face any problem on that ground in future because you are already having the copy of Govt. Gazette in this regard.

Mr. Bhavesh :

Anticipatively you have changed your & your family members names (maybe for some good-luck or something) on the advise of your "most popular numerologist" AND you might have spent considerable amount on the name-change procedure.

Did you put up your queries to the "most popular numerologist", more so now since after the name change you have put yourself in a most difficult and technical legal situation.

I think you should once again take the advise of your "most popular numerologist", for your various queries.

Keep Smiling .... Hemant Agarwal

*Hemant! Had that popular 'scientist' capable to solve the problem of author, he might not raised such query here so why to increase his 'pains' and agonies?
