Who is a NOMINEE?

Nominee is a person to receive the benefits under nomination and distribute the same to the legal heirs/beneficiaries under law. Nominee can also be one of the legal heirs to take the benefit. This preposition has been laid down by the Supreme Court.

Nominee :
A person named as the recipient of a grant, conveyance, or annuity; or
a person named or proposed for an office, duty, or position; or
a person named to act as another's agent or representative; or
a candidate selected to represent a party in an election; or
a person in whose name a stock or registered bond certificate is registered but who is not the actual owner
is called NOMINEE.

Nominee is, a custodian, who receive the benefits and profits under nomination, distribute the same to the legal heirs/beneficiaries under/as per the law time being in force.
Nominee can also be one of the legal heirs, who is entitled to get the benefit. This preposition has been laid down by the Supreme Court, many times.
