Respected Experts,
We would like to register a Non-Profit Organisation to take-up following activities:
(i) Cash prizes for merit students (X class) (ii) Free distribution of Books to poor students. (iii) Free distribution of school dresses (iv) Contribution for marriage of poor girls. (v) Annadanam (Free food) to poor people in the locality etc.....
To take up these activities, do we need to register a foundation with some Authority. If so, kindly suggest the procedure and time to be taken for the same.

The Societies Registration Act, 1860; the Indian Trusts Act, 1882; and the Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act, 1956 are the three enactments which seem to fulfill requirements of nonprofit organizations created for the larger public good
you can register it as society or as trust or as company

In kerala it is possible to prepare the trust deed and register the same as a document under the Indian Registration Act 1908.
