Please tell me what are the documents required for live in relation and how fast it can be done and what are the legal effects?

Both should be major and unmarried and there is no other requirement of law. legal implication is that both are independent and can come on road on the day of their sweet desire though the partner performing the role of 'wife' in such karamkand is entitled for the grant of maintenance allowance from her male partner.

No certificates required. It has to be agreed by both the parties and in case of dispute has to be proved by the party claiming so.

Hi Guys,
Thank you for your valuable suggestions. So you mean to say that there are no documentes required for live in relation- no certificates, notary, or attestation required, right? I am really sorry to ask this question, this cud be blunder, this is just my doubt, but if people know that the two people living together are not legally husband and wife, (especially if they are on a trip, in a hotel etc) can it lead to a legal problem....like case of immoral traffic etc.

do you want to indulge in extra marital affair ?
if you check in any hotel you will be asked for identity proof of yourself and your partner . entries will be made in register .
that would prove in handy for your wife if she wants to sue you for divorce .

since you both are adults and want to enter into live in relation ship you are free to do so .
the problems are
societies atleast in mumbai are reluctant to give premises on rent or sell flat to live in couple
have a clear understandng with your partner regarding division of household expenses .
if you have children then what is to be done ?
decide these issues then take a call

We have thought, discussed and come to conclusions about all the things you mentioned and more. But our doubt is that if we live together without any documentation or something would that be a legal violation or something. I am so sorry for this stupid doubt but we do not know many around us in live in relation , thats why.

the supreme court has made it clear that if the man has a live-in arrangement with a woman only for sexual reasons, neither partner can claim benefits of a legal marriage.
domestic violence act 2005 recognises live in reltaion ship
