rent agreement (urgent)

dear sir,
pls tell me why we make any rental agreement for 11 months in usual practise. is there any law rearding this.

Dear Prateek,

section 18 (c) of Indian Registrartion act held that the lease registration under section 17 exempted with in one year.

agreement is only for 11 months when it is 11 months it need not to be registered u/s 17 of the Indian Reg. Act. Simple agreement with conditions of both the parties are sufficient

Dear Prateek
As per section 17 of the Indian Registration Act,1908 if the said agreement will be for exceeding one year then it will compulsorily require registration under the Act and this is why to avoid registration agreement is normally done for 11 months.
