Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 13 May 2010 This query is : Resolved
Dear sir/madam,
My personal email account has been hacked and the mails have been forwarded to others without my knowledge. Apart from this, some other information which was for my personal eye was wrongfully and decietfully bought into the public eye and this has caused me a lot of trouble and have made me the centre of unwanted attention. Can i claim that my right to privacy has been breached ??

you can defenitly claim that.

for that you need to find the culprit.

it is a very difficult task to find the culprit. try complaining to cyber police.

first change the password and contact cyber police without any delay

A cyber crime has been committed against you. You will have to lodge a police complaint under the Information Technology Act who are supposed to investigate, identify and punish the criminal. Cyber police in some states are not equipped enough to trace the criminal. Therefore, it is better you approach private investigators who could do the job.

the hacking has been done by a distant cousin

well, since it is within the family,it is better to settle the issue with in the family, unless the damage is grave enough to proceed legally .
