Pusuant to an RTI query, health deptt. has directed its employee to furnish information regarding the purchase of immovable property during service.
Whether such kind of personal information falls within the purview of RTI?
what are the options before the employee?

He can give the information to the Department but he can also very specifically state that this information is his personal information and is not to be passed on to any one under any circumstances without his consent. Thus this personal information cannot be made available by the PIO under the RTI to any third party (RTI Applicant).

Irrespective of whether or not the information falls within the purview of RTI, the employee is obliged to submit the information to his department, not only about immovable property, but also about each of his movable properties costing more than the exempted limit, as per the requirement of his service conduct rules.
However, the said information also falls within the purview of the RTI.
