SSC MARK SHEET CANNOT BE CHANGED NOW.

You can file Affidavit & Govt gazette, changing your name that tally with mark sheet. Otherwise it will delay a lot to get Court Order.

Name in record can be corrected after passing out’

Shibu Thomas, TNN May 5, 2012, 12.28AM IST

MUMBAI: Corrections can be made to one's name printed in the school record, even after s/he has passed out, the Bombay high court has ruled.

Coming to the aid of a 17-year-old Versova resident whose name was misspelt in his school leaving certificate, a division bench of Justice A M Khanwilkar and Justice S S Shinde rubbished the state education department's stand that the school records were sacrosanct and the name or surname of a student cannot be changed once he or she left the institution. "Government authorities are not powerless to entertain the prayer for correction in name or surname as the case may be," said the bench. "The deputy director of education and school inspector ought to have considered the prayer for correction of the student's first name in his school leaving certificate and all other school/college records."
The petition was filed by Arshad Jamal (17), a class XI student of a college in Juhu. When he was in class X at St Joseph's School in Juhu, he found that in the school register, his name had been spelt as "Ashaad". He cleared his SSC in March 2010 and his school leaving certificate was issued in the name of "Ashaad". The school asked him to get his corrected name published in the government gazette. Despite doing it, the education inspector and the deputy director of education dismissed his request to correct the spelling in school record. They said the general register of school could not be changed once the student left the institute.

Jamal moved HC through his father. His lawyers said there were provisions in the Secondary School Code that allows for spelling corrections in name or surname. But state lawyers said it could not be done if a student left school.

Disagreeing, the court said, "There is a provision and procedure for correction of spelling of a student's name, father's name and surname. It enables even a person no longer studying to apply to an officer to make correction in the first name based on evidence." The HC told the deputy director of education to consider Arshad's request.

not a legal query. Even a clerk or peon of education board can tell correct procedure.
