Dear All,
Pl. clarify my doubt on this issue.
I have LIC policies, in which my wife is nominee. The surname of my wife is not legally changed to first letter of my name. Unknowingly I used first letter of my name to her as surname while taking the policies. My wife has all ID proofs with her father name as surname. Will this mismatch in surname between ID proofs & LIC policy give a chance of making issue while claiming the settlement once the policy is matured?

During your life time you can get changed the name of your nominee if you make an application for correction
Normally problem of this nature is not to be a hindrance in settlement unless there is a dispute

The change in surname or name does not disentitile the claimant from getting the benefit. If the bank still insists she needs to only affirm one affidavit making the clarification. That is all.
