My client has set up a company into the business of offering internet services related to web-site, social networking, delivery of internet messages in the form of products in real time.
My Queries:
1. With regard to the drafting of Privacy Policies, Terms and Conditions, can he draft it himself?
2. What are the main points/areas to be covered in drafting such a policy?
3. Does he have to register himeself/obtain approval with/from any authorities related to the web/internet services rendered?

1. He can but it is not advisable - You draft them or consult a specialist transactional lawyer.
2. These are standard form of contracts - they are made with a view to minimize if not completely avoid liability in case of wrong user. Courts normally give effect to such terms if they are not grossly unjust or unconsionable.
3. I don't think so, his business plan is required to be perused for that.

It is standard agreement for which if he is skilled enough to draft himself then there is no need for an expert.
Indemnity clause and damage clause needs to be emphasised.
No need unless local authority of the particular place does require license for the office from where such service would be provided.

The questioner will greatly benefit to initially visit websites such as Yahoo and Google that cater to answer such enquirers and provide valuable insight and guidance too. One may thereafter seek professional assistance. This has been my experience on many such issues.
