what if only last page of an agreement is signed ?

Guest (Querist) 07 August 2010 This query is : Resolved
An agreement consisting five pages but signed and witnessed on last page only, whether is a proper legal document or not ? What if someone changes the front pages ?
Is not it the best way that each page be signed and witnessed ?

if every page is not signed it will be difficult to prove in case of dispute. It is better to sign on each page of the agreement.

Yes it is preferable to sign on each page if agreement is not to be registered or notarized.. However if the said agreement is notarized then with the help impression of the seal of the notary any change made can be notice and proved as the seal is there on across the pages also. And in case of registered agreement it is easy to prove as the document is scanned after registration.

The agreement should be signed on each page even if initials are done on each page will satisfy your query.
