why bail is required in simple fight cases

my landlord had fight with another house owner in front of our house. I was not there. In night when i reach to home, landlord-lady son asked me to help for the bail for Landlady in relevant police station. i went to police station with them, they asked my details and photo id card. i asked them the kind of case it is, but they didnot tell anything.
i also signed on some booklet.
will i be in some trouble if they case goes to court.

No, but check whether the bail was granted by the police keeping you as a surety or not.

i do not know about surety.
But i guess the landlady didn't paid anything for Bail.
The front side houseowner is advocate himself. so i felt like Police is almost not ready to listen my landlady. they kept her at poice station till 11 PM night and didn't let her go. after keeping my details they let her go. I asked for the case details but they didn't told anything.
i guess they are influenced by the Advocate guy.
My landlady is 66 yrs old. The advocate guy hit her badly. medical report is there.
Is she can do something..?

what i feel is that, if Bail was required to let Land-lady go out, then it is sure criminal offence case.

IIrrespective of the fact that the offender is an advocate the landlady can definitely lodge complaint the case against him. Unless I could understand on what sort of paper you signed, it is difficult to make further comment.

About the paper on wich i signed, it was in kanaada, i don't know Kannada.
Just a last request.
My land lady is going to file case for Senior citizen lady violence. Do i have to go to courts with them?
Even if If they loose in court, do i get affected?
consider that i am not involved as witness or anything to the actual fight issue.
I guess untill the people fighting case are present and attending i need not to worry.
