Appeal

Hello Friends,

Recently  judegement was declared in a RCOP case in a district munsif court in Chennai, in which my land lord has filed case against me for "fair rent"  for the shed rented to me.  Though the rent was increased, the increase in rent will be effective from the date of  judgement and not from the date of RCOP filing. Please guide me and clarify following doubts,

1.  How much time is alloted to file an "Appeal" against this judgement.

2.  Both me and my land lord can appeal against this judgement?

3.  Is there any advantage for the first side making appeal in the case?

4.  If my side will be first one to appeal against the judgement, do i have the rights to withdraw my appeal at any time during the trial.

5.  If both of us made appeal against the judgement and i prefer to withdraw my appeal, will there be any trouble in it to my side?

I need your guidence since i am very much relieved from the pressure of paying the difference in rent by the judgement of the honourable judge.

Please also note before judgement the location where the disputed property lies is a municipality and now a part of Chennai corporation.

Thanks and regards

S. CHANDRAKANTHAN
