Assistance in setting up a new ngo

What kind of legal formalities are to be fulfilled while setting up a new NGO..I am a law student and a friend of mine who is a geologist wants to start a new NGO for promotion of science,environment and culture in Chandigarh and surrounding areas.

Hi Gurjot,

The First thing required for Registration of an NGO is Memoradum of Association and By Laws of the NGO. Fees of Registration of NGO vary from state to state. Visit the office of Deputy Commissioner for Registration of NGO. Also find the attached file for your reference.
