recovery of pay due to shortfall in notice period

What does recovery of pay during notice period mean?

I applied for resignation on the 17th of jan.Last working day was feb 4th .Resignation APPROVED.
The company payroll is from 26th to 25th. I have already received my salary for dec26 to jan25.

The program HR says that since i did not serve a 30 day notice, my 12 days pay would be recovered. What does that mean?

Since i have worked only for 10 days from jan 26 will I receive any money in the F&F settlement.

Notice period of 30 days will be calculated from the date of subission of resignation letter.

so far as your employer containtion to pay 12 days salary or it will be deducted from your salary, is legal as you are short fall of notice. But the same can not be recovered from your EPF.
