I was issued a challan for public drinking last around 2-3 days back. My license was kept with the police.
I have been coming to court for about 2-3 days and everytime I'm here I've been told that my file hasn't arrived from the police station and the only way to know is to go to court everytime. my query is
a) do I contact the police station.
b) if the file does arrive at court how long do I have until I appear for it?
c) in case I am late is a summon issued in my name?

Yes you can contact to police station.
If you not appeared Summon send to your address with order to appearing on specific date.Then you appeared.
