Female owning property

What are the problems faced by a female if she wants to buy land or flat in her own name, especially in West Bengal?

Dear Querist,

Owning a immoveable is not a problem than to retain the same unaffected. Buying and holding a land property and maintaining the same is little difficult than to do so as regards Flat is concern.

Its after all your investment decision.

To purchase a property by a female there is no separate formalities and would be no problem except it may be required income tax formalities if needed as  male.

Dear basu,

The sub-registrar may demand your income tax returns for a property valued at above 5 lakhs. If these returns are clear, then there should be no problem in purchasing a property
