Hello,
I live abroad and have an apartment in Bangalore for which I have given the POA to my brother to sell. We got the POA adjudicated in Bangalore in Feb this year for 6% of the guidance market value as per the Karnataka Stamp Act. I paid around 2 lakhs to get the POA registered in Bangalore. This amount was supposed to get adjusted during registration of the flat at sale.
I am close to selling the flat now. However, I just came to know that the Stamp Act has been revised since April 2011, and the POA adjudication charges will only be adjusted if the property is sold to the POA holder. What is going to happen to the money I have paid for POA adjudication now?? How can I get it back?
Please help.
Sumit
