FATHERS DEBTS

Dear sir/Madam,
My father had some debts...We are 3 kids for my Late mother. Elder brother, Elder sister and myself. My father married another woman. She had a kid (my younger brother). We all are well settled. I already cleared 30 lakhs... But still they are pressuring only me to clear another 23 lakhs. They took some of my signatures by blackmailing me for which I have proofs. Now am I only liable to clear debts? Please advise.

You don't have to clear your father's debts.

The signatures obtained from you on a blank paper is not recognised as legally valid.

Therefore you can refuse to make any more payments towards his debts, he cannot do anything legally about it.

Thank you for your valuable advise sir

I agree with the advise of learned expert Mr. T Kalaiselvan.

Assets and liabilities of deceased father shall devolve equally upon his legal representatives, therefore, the debt left by your father has to be paid by all siblings.
